Modification of Chocolate based recipes
In machines running with the chocolate module, we have seen examples of the internal return suction pump in the coffee machine itself blowing the hose.
This can happen if the chocolate pump starts prior to the water being added (this can be necessary in order to a rich enough end cup quality) thus filling the outlet hose with a very hard flowing product. When the water is then added, a high pressure is then required to push the initial chocolate out to the cup, and as the resting position of the valve in front of the suction pump is open in this direction, this pressure will enter the pump and potentially destroy it.
There are two ways to prevent this:
- Either make sure water starts simultaneously with (or sooner than) the chocolate
- Or manually close this valve by entering a an extra line in the recipe that activates this valve during the whole recipe:
a. In output configuration label output number four “Suction valve”, StandardNonFluid
b. Enter a line with this output in the recipe as shown below:
NOTE: Change must be made for all chocolate recipes.
